We were camping at Cabrera’s Farm in Dicklum, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

We woke up at the break of dawn because the truck came early for the harvest. In Cabrera’s Farm, there are 56,000 heads. That is big business. Bountry Fresh supplies everything – stock, feeds, vaccines, name it – and then buys the harvest. I found out that the labor cost can be taken from the sale of the chicken dung. So, this is good business. But, as Joy said, what we are eating mostly are results of chemical injections. So, there.

In an ideal world, we all eat organically-raised chicken. But then, there will be no Jollibee, McDonalds, Mang Inasal and Senor Pedro in that ideal world. But maybe what I can do is to begin going back to the native chicken we used to raise and eat when we were children.
